The A-Maize-ing Worcester Maize Maze

The Worcester Maize Maze is located at Broadfields Farm in Powick. If you've never been to one before, a Maize Maze is pretty much exactly what it sounds like - a great big maze made out of (you guessed it) maize!

Apparently the corn hasn't grown as high this year compared to previous years, however it still looked pretty impressive to me! This year's maze is themed around Robin Hood and there are two mazes that you can explore - the main (bigger) maze and a mini maze.

The aim of the game is to find the answers to the questions on your Robin Hood worksheet. Sounds simple enough, but trust me when I say it's a lot harder than it sounds! The answers can be found on wooden stands dotted around the maze. There's also a picture challenge, where you basically take a crayon rubbing of various Robin Hood "characters," which are also located on stands inside the maze.

We managed to find all but one of the question stands, then kind of gave up as we got nearer to the exit. We still managed to spend a good 2 and a half hours wandering around, and I was pretty tired (and hungry!) by the time we finally found our way out.

Overall though we had a really lovely afternoon, and if you live nearby and are looking for a fun (but cheap) day out then I'd definitely recommend it. The weather was pretty good when we went which was also a bonus! Adult tickets are usually £6.50, however we found an offer on Travelzoo where you pay only £6 for two people. Parking is also free on site, and there's a reasonably priced refreshment stand and picnic area if you need to grab a drink or a bite to eat.

Have you ever been to a Maize Maze?

Aw these are so much fun! I went to my local one last year with my fiancé and we had such a great time, despite it being boiling and there being no wind due to the high maize walls, haha!
