The Christmas Tag

It's nearly Christmaaas!!!

I've seen this tag floating around the internet for a while, so I thought I'd give it a go to get into the festive spirit of things :-) If you've done a post like this yourself, feel free to leave any links in the comments below. Love reading all about other people's Christmas traditions!

What is your favourite Christmas movie/s?
Every time someone asks me this I always want to say Die Hard, but apparently that’s “Not a proper Christmas film” (say whaaaat!?) so instead I shall go with It’s a Wonderful Life. Because you can't beat a classic. We were made to watch it when I was in school, but I actually really enjoyed it! It's really heartwarming and gives you that proper warm, fuzzy feeling.

Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Christmas morning… doesn't everyone!? Actually I tend to house-hop throughout the day to spend time with different family members, so some presents get opened in the morning while others not until after dinner. This year I'm spending the morning with my mum, then in the afternoon/evening I'm going over to my Nan’s to see my Dad and his family.

Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I think it's hard to pick something specific as all my Christmases tend to blend into one! My favourite memory from last Christmas was seeing my Granddad's reaction to me chatting to my Dad over Skype on my phone. He doesn't really know much about technology and so was in complete amazement! It was pretty hilarious and was the highlight of my day!

Favourite festive food?
It’s all about the cheese platter!! And sprouts. Loooove them Brussel sprouts. My housemates at university used to think I was a bit strange because I’d literally sit and eat them in a bowl with gravy haha.

Favourite Christmas gift?
This is such a difficult question! When I was younger my parents got me a hamster for Christmas which I was completely overwhelmed by at the time. I named him Harry Potter (so original!) and I loved him sooo much.

Favourite Christmas scent?
Nothing beats the smell of a Christmas dinner cooking in the oven! I really love the smell of cinnamon too, which always reminds me of Christmas.

Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Last year I was working Christmas Eve and it took me over 2 hours to get home (thank you public transport) however in past years I loved going to the Carol Service at my Dad’s church. Singing Christmas songs never fails to put me in that festive mood, and I think I’m probably going to go again this year.

What tops your tree?
This year nothing (*hides head in shame*). When I moved out of my mum’s house I somehow managed to inherit a random Christmas tree but alas no Christmas tree decorations. I bought some cute little baubles from Tesco the other day but I’ve not got anything to put on the top just yet. When I was growing up we had an Angel we used to put on the top though!

As a kid what was the one (crazily, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I literally can't think of an answer to this one! I was pretty realistic when I was a kid, I never really asked for anything crazy or extravagant. Saying that, I imagine I asked for a puppy or a kitten at some point.
