The Bird Print Skirt

I was a bit of a busy bee this weekend – one of my friends from University is turning 21 this week so I spent the weekend up North celebrating. This included another night out in Liverpool, which as I mentioned before is one of my favourite places to go out, so I was loving life (even more so than usual)!

In true British style the weather today was a bit on-and-off, but luckily it was nice enough this afternoon as my Nan had a barbeque round at her house.

Here’s what I wore.

I bought this skirt from H&M a few weeks ago and love the cute bird print pattern on it. I pulled out the belt that came with it and swapped it for my bright pink skinny belt I got from Primark last year. I washed it for the first time a few days ago and it shrunk a little, but luckily I bought it a bit big anyway so it still fits at a good length. Since the pattern's quite busy I paired it with this plain white box tee from Primark since I'm not brave or adventurous enough to clash prints just yet.

I was wearing shoes - grey brogues - but as they're quite new they're still in the gives-you-blisters-if-you-wear-without-socks stage. This meant I had to wear trainer socks with them to walk over to my Nan's house or be in pain for the rest of the afternoon. My 8-year-old sister insisted I looked "cute" in them but my 18-year-old sister told me I looked like a weirdo. I wasn't sure who to believe either way so I cropped them out the photos anyway.

Barbeques can be a bit of a nightmare for me sometimes because I don't eat meat, but luckily my Nan cooked up some garlic bread and wedges alongside all the burgers and sausages so while I may have some funky smelling breath I am nicely full :-)

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and has been watching the London 2012 Olympics - I have been when I can and am loving it so far (although I was a little gutted we didn't get a medal in the synchronised diving)!
