What I did in January

A weekend in London // Griffblog

Instagram Update!

Is it just me or has January really really dragged? Not in a bad way or anything - as months go this one has been pretty darn good! I've not been able to blog as much as I'd have liked (life really does get in the way sometimes) however February is looking a little less busy so hopefully I'll be able to up my blogging game!

Without further ado - here's what I got up in January via my instagram photos. Don't forget you can follow me @samgriffyyy! If you love cats, food and clothes I promise you won't be disappointed...

Weekend in London

A few weeks ago it was my sister's 21st birthday, so to celebrate we went down to London (along with my mum and other sister) to see Wicked in the West End. I'd read the book years before but had never seen the show. I thought it was absolutely incredible - when they started singing Defying Gravity I swear I got goosebumps!

My mum's already planning what show we're going to go down and see next (I think she's been bitten by the bug!) If you've got any recommendations please feel free to leave them in the comments below!

We did plenty of shopping while we were there (more on that below!) plus a bit of sightseeing. I even roped my mum into taking some outfit photos in front of Big Ben and the River Thames (you can see the post here!) As much as I love the midlands I do sometimes wish I lived in London just so I could see those views every day.

What I bought in January // Griffblog

New Buys

The above is just some of the bits and pieces I've added to my wardrobe this month. I've been after this Lazy Oaf pinafore for months but was gutted to see it had sold out online. I eventually tracked one down in my size via a different website Dolls Kill and a few weeks later it finally arrived! These animal print boots I picked up at the start of the month and have already worn them loads - in fact they barely left my feet while I was in London the other week!

These River Island brogues I bought while I was in London (ditto the daisy print jeans) and will both be perfect for Spring. I'm that excited for the warmer weather I've started planning outfits already haha!

Bilbo the Cat // GriffblogBilbo and Tallulah // Griffblog

Bilbo and Tallulah

This month the kitty cats have spent most of their time sleeping, which to be honest I can't really blame them for! That first picture of Bilbo is now the screensaver on my phone. Sometimes I think they deliberately act cute just so I won't yell at them as much when they wake me up at 5.30 in the morning...

reading and snow

& everything else

I've been making a start on my 15 goals for 2015 - one of which was to read 50 books this year (you can follow my progress over on my goodreads). This month I read 4 books which means I'm right on track to achieving my goal! I've also been thinking about doing a review summary at the end of each month on the books I've read, so which I liked and would recommend. Watch this space!

Did anyone else get snow this week? On wednesday it started to proper come down (like a blizzard!) while I was at work in Birmingham, yet when I got home that evening my home town (a mere half an hour down the road) hadn't seen any! According to the news it's meant to stay cold and frosty for quite a while - as long as it doesn't affect the trains too much I'll be happy! Time to dig out those wellies...

Hope everyone's had a great start to the year! What did you get up to in January?

I'd suggest going to see Gypsy if you can get tickets!
I saw it when it was in Chichester towards the end of last year before it's tranferred to London, and it was my first musical and I fell in love. Imelda Staunton and Lara Pulver are AMAZING.
