A few of my favourite dry shampoos - reviewed!
If I had to pick one hair product that I couldn't live without (after regular shampoo and conditioner of course!) it would be dry shampoo. Literally love the stuff and it's an absolute lifesaver when it comes to my fringe. Mine has a habit of going flat and stringy really quickly, so dry shampoo is the quickest fix, short of washing it over the sink (which I'll admit - I have had to do on occasion!)
I use it pretty much daily which means I've tried an awful lot of different brands in the past. Some have been great and others not so much. I thought I'd put together a couple of mini reviews summing up which ones worked for me and which ones really didn't!
Aussi Miracle Dry Shampoo (Aussome Volume)
I didn't realise Aussi did dry shampoo until it was recommended to me over twitter a few months ago. I love this stuff. It smells amazing, doesn't leave any white marks (even on my dark roots) and makes my hair feel light and clean. The only problem I've found is the cans keep on breaking on me! The first time it happened I put it down to bad luck, but now the nozzle has gone on a second bottle I'm a little bit miffed, especially as it's not the cheapest on the shelf! Has anyone else found this problem? As much as I love it it's made me a little reluctant to buy it again, which is a shame.
Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo
Another brand I didn't know did dry shampoo is Herbal Essences! I picked up this teeny tiny bottle in poundland when I went to York in September. I'd forgot to bring any with me and I was curious to see what this was like. One thing I do love about this is it smells pretty darn good, and it does refresh my hair pretty good. Volume-wise it's kind of lacking but for £1 it hardly breaks the bank and the can I bought from Primark is the perfect miniature size to fit in your handbag for emergencies!
Batiste Dry Shampoo - Pixie Lott
Batiste was the first brand of dry shampoo I ever tried and I still like it even today. I went off it for a while as I found it kept leaving white marks in my hair, but I received this Pixie Lott version in a gift bag at a blogger meet-up a while ago and I think it's my new favourite of the 'flavours' (is that the right word!?) that Batiste do. I'm not as keen on the regular Batiste smell but this one is really lovely and fresh. Although it doesn't add as much volume as the Aussi stuff it lasts just as long and makes my hair feel really refreshed and ready for the day.
Superdrug Dry Shampoo for Brunettes
I picked this up back in the spring when I saw Superdrug had it on offer. I'm gonna be honest here - I'm really not a fan. On the few times I've used it I've found my hair has gone really dry and stiff (not a good look) plus the Brunette one smells revolting. I've seen other people have had really good experiences with it, but for me it just doesn't cut the biscuit in comparison to other brands. Although it's relatively cheap I really don't think I'd ever buy it again.
