Charmed phantasee lenses from Vision direct

Halloween is one of my most favorite nights of the year. I think it's because it's that one night where the majority of people you see on a night out are wearing fancy dress (including me!) Therefore when I received an email last week from Vision Direct asking if I'd like to try out and review a pair of their phantasee cosmetic Halloween lenses I could only say yes!

Cosmetic contact lenses - Vision Direct; Studded zip up bodice top - New Look; Cross print skirt - New Look; Shoes - New Look

Smudged my makeup a little getting them in and out. Would recommend putting makeup on after putting lenses in to avoid panda eyes effect!

As shown in the pictures, I chose the charmed lenses as I thought they'd be easy to create an outfit around. I tried to work around a "witchy" theme and so styled them with my New Look skirt and top to create a Gothic kind of look.

Having never used contact lenses before I was a little apprehensive, but the instructions that came with the lenses were really easy to follow and after a few attempts (and the initial "ohmygosh I'm poking something in my eye" shock) I managed to get them in easily enough. Once I was used to having the lenses in (took about 20 minutes or so) I also found they were quite comfortable and they definitely made my eyes stand out - I  was really impressed!

Overall I think they're a great way of adding something a bit extra to a costume, although I think I'd need to practice taking them out a bit more before wearing them on a night out!

What do you think of cosmetic lenses? Would they be something you'd wear?

In our FAQ at http://www.visiondirect.co.uk, we recommend to apply lenses first and make up later. We are however aware that there are two minds about this so we much appreciate your input on that topic! On another note, lenses look good on you and thank you for the review!
