I've been looking back at old pictures recently, reminiscing about my Uni days and how everyone looks so different now compared to way back at the start. With me getting my fringe cut back in last weekend, I thought it'd be fun to do a post on my hair over the years, and how it's subtly changed as I've got older.
Before and at the start of Uni I was determined to grow my hair as long as physically possible. I also straightened it constantly, which meant it wasn't always in the best condition.
Over the course of Uni I became a lot more relaxed about straightening my hair. Faced with the choice of getting up to do my hair and an extra 15 minutes in bed before 9am lectures I chose the extra sleep! Plus my best friend convinced me my natural wave actually looks nice, and I came to believe her :-)
Half way through my second year at Uni I decided to dye my hair purple. when I first dyed it it was a bit of a shock as it was a lot darker than I thought it would be, but as it started to lighten up I really started to like it.
During my third year at Uni I decided to get a fringe cut in. I got the idea in my head then went to the hairdresser while severely hungover and just bit the bullet and got it done. I loved it at first but it was so much hard work to maintain that I decided to let it grow out towards the end of Uni, then had it cut back in again over that Summer.
In recent months I've decided the fringe is well worth the hassle of maintaining it. Luckily my hairdresser offers free fringe trims in between regular hair cuts so I'm able to keep it up (so long as I have chance to get to the hairdressers).
I've been getting a craving recently to experiment more with my hair. I've always played it safe in the past because whenever I've made too much of a drastic change I've always hated it. I really want to try dyeing it another colour, like red or something; I just need to get up the guts to actually do it!
