How I started blogging & the bloggers who inspired me to do it

I've been going on about it all week but in case you hadn't heard today is the one year anniversary of my first ever blog post! To mark the occasion I wanted to talk about five bloggers whose amazing blogs inspired me to start writing my own!

All of them I found via the old Republic "Wear it your way" blog, which used to feature a different guest blogger each month. From clicking back through the archives and taking a peek at their own personal style blogs I discovered this whole world of fashion inspiration I'd only vaguely heard of before. While the Republic blog unfortunately disappeared along with the store at the start of this year I still regularly read these blogs it introduced me to even now.

Kavita - She Wears Fashion

What I like about Kavita is that she's not afraid to stand out. I think she always looks incredible and seems to be able to pull off even the craziest trends. I especially love that she's a vintage girl at heart and I really enjoy seeing all the bargains she's managed to pick up on eBay and at car boot sales.

Charlotte - Girl Next Door Fashion

I love the way Charlotte puts outfits together - it's like she can tell exactly which patterns and colours will work with which. Her recent work wear posts especially have been pretty darn good, when I eventually get a job that doesn't require wearing an unattractive uniform I know exactly where I'm returning for inspiration. Plus she has the same panda blazer as me so we clearly have the same great taste!

Becca - Fashion-Train

If you want to know about the latest trends and how to wear them then this is the blog for you! Becca always looks bang up-to-date and I like how she isn't afraid of bright colours or bold patterns. Her wishlists and "style steal" posts are also some of my favourites.

Lauren - The Style Tag

I love Lauren's style - she always looks so relaxed and effortlessly cool, plus her writing is proper funny and down to earth (her recent post about instagram had me smiling and nodding in agreement). She also has the most gorgeous hair which I am in serious envy of!

magpiegirl

Vicki -The Magpie Girl

Vicki has one of the most gorgeous wardrobes I have ever seen. Cute, quirky and unique - I love how her outfit photos always look so beautifully put together and often have the most stunning backgrounds as well. It was through her blog that I first found one of my favourite brands Sugarhill Boutique, as well as so many other lovely stores I'd never heard of before.

So there you have it - the story of how I started blogging and the bloggers who inspired me to do it. If you're looking for some new reading material and don't already follow these lovelies I'd definitely recommend taking a peek.

Who knows - they might even inspire you like they did me!
