Hotel Cheyenne Disneyland Paris Review

Hotel Cheyenne is the second Disneyland Paris hotel I've stayed at (the first was the Sequoia Lodge in 2015). When I started doing research for our Disneyland Paris 2019 trip, I wanted to keep the cost as low as possible. I briefly looked into off-site hotels, as these are typically cheaper. However, at the time of booking, Magic Breaks were running a free Disney dining offer if you booked a package deal on hotel and park tickets. Food in Disneyland Paris is expensive, so this worked out better value overall.

If you're thinking about staying at Hotel Cheyenne on your next visit to Disneyland Paris, keep reading for my honest review!

Checking-in at Hotel Cheyenne Disneyland Paris

If you're travelling to Disneyland Paris via Eurostar, this will bring you into the Marne-la-Vallée station where there are free shuttle buses that can drop you off at the hotel. Otherwise, it's a 15-minute walk through the Disney Village and around the lake.

We arrived at Hotel Cheyenne at around 1pm on a Tuesday afternoon and waited in a queue for approximately 20-minutes to check-in. I had read horror stories online of people saying it took them almost an hour to check-in, so maybe we got lucky!

The guy at reception was really helpful. After confirming our ID, he handed over our Magic Passes. These act as your room key and entry tickets to the park. We also used them to "pay" for food using our half-board meal credits. I had already made our lunch and dinner reservations in advance, but he booked us timeslots for breakfast in the Chuck Wagon Cafe for both mornings of our stay.

Although you can check-in at any time, rooms are usually ready from 3pm. Luckily ours was ready early, so we could head straight there to freshen up before making our way to the parks. If your room isn't ready, you can leave your luggage in the hotel storage facility for free while you head out to explore the parks.

Woody's Roundup Standard Room

The theming at Hotel Cheyenne is beautiful. You feel like you're walking through an old Wild West town.

The standard rooms are inspired by Woody from the Toy Story films. In our room, there was one double bed and one pull-out bed (which my sisters slept on). There was also a small safe, although we didn't bother using this. The bathroom had a large mirror, sink, toilet and bath/shower.

Although Hotel Cheyenne is considered a "value" Disney hotel, I was really impressed. There wasn't a huge amount of space, but there was more than enough room for our family of four adults. We didn't spend much time in our room anyway, other than to sleep, shower and get ready.

Breakfast buffet at Hotel Cheyenne. The long table is filled with bowls of bread rolls, croissants and pain au chocolate.
Sam's plate is loaded with beans, scrambled eggs and fried potatoes. She also had a glass of orange juice and a glass of apple juice. Her mum's plate is similar, except she also has bacon and a yogurt.

Breakfast at Hotel Cheyenne

The breakfast buffet at Hotel Cheyenne is located onsite in the Chuck Wagon Cafe. If it's not included in your booking it usually costs €30.99 per adult and €16.99 per child*.

On our first morning, our breakfast timeslot meant we could arrive any time between 7.30-8.30am. This was perfect as it meant we could make use of Extra Magic Hours (EMH) where you can enter the parks an hour earlier than other guests. It's one of the main benefits of staying in a Disney hotel.

On our second morning, we had a later timeslot of 9.30-10.30am, so we could enjoy a lie-in and eat before checking out.

Breakfast at Hotel Cheyenne was much nicer than the breakfast buffet I remember at Sequoia Lodge (although it may have changed since my visit in 2015). There were plenty of hot and cold options, plus juice and hot drinks. I recommend trying the pastries, they were delicious!

It was definitely busier on our first morning. Plenty of people taking advantage of EMH! There was a small queue when we arrived, but it moved quickly. On our second morning, we were seated straight away.

Every morning in the lobby we saw a different Disney character doing a meet-and-greet. I believe they do this at all the Disney hotels. On our last day, we tried to join the queue to meet Mickey at 10.40am (he was advertised as meeting until 11am). However, they had already closed the line, which was really disappointing. If we'd known then we would have joined the queue before breakfast.

How much does it cost to stay at the Hotel Cheyenne?

Prices vary massively depending on when you want to stay. Weekdays are the cheapest and major holidays like Christmas are the most expensive.

Our package deal through Magic Breaks for mid-November 2019 cost us less than £800 (£200 per person) for 4 adults. This included:

  • 2 nights at Hotel Cheyenne
  • 3-day park tickets
  • Free standard half-board dining (breakfast in the hotel and lunch or dinner at selected restaurants in the parks)

To put this into perspective, let's say you wanted to book a room for two adults in January 2020. Booking.com has weekday prices starting from £84 per night. However, as soon as you change the date to a weekend, the price shoots up to £147. I also checked prices for a Saturday night in December 2019 (a couple of weeks before Christmas) and it was £307 per room for one night(!) You'd then have to book your park tickets and transport separately on top of that.

I'm not saying a package deal is always the best option, but I'd definitely recommend comparing it to the price of booking everything separately.

Have you ever stayed at the Hotel Cheyenne Disneyland Paris? Or any of the other Disney Hotels?

The only Disney hotel I've stayed in is Santa Fe but when my boyfriend and I go at some point, we want to stay in Cheyenne because we love Wild West themed stuff! I think the budget Disney hotels are a great option because you don't spend an awful lot of time in them anyway! Was the price for the breakfast buffet per day? xxx

I actually think I preferred Hotel Cheyenne to Sequoia Lodge where I stayed in 2015!

Yes, I think the €30.99 / €16.99 price for breakfast is per day. If we hadn't had it included with our booking we probably would have got breakfast in the Disney Village instead, as there are a few places there which are a lot cheaper xx
