Christmas at Disneyland Paris

If you're thinking about spending Christmas at Disneyland Paris, keep reading to see my photos and recommendations on how to get the most out of your visit. 

In November 2015 I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days at Disneyland Paris. This was the second time I’d been to Disneyland Paris, and the first time as an adult. I'd previously visited in 1998 when I was about 7 so I can't remember much. Words cannot describe just how magical it was. 

Day 1: Walt Disney Studios, Fireworks and Meeting Mickey

Disneyland Paris is split into 2 parks; Walt Disney Studios Park and Disneyland Park. Walt Disney Studios is the smaller (and newest) of the two, but it has most of the thrill rides. The Tower of Terror was my personal favourite, alongside Crush's Coaster and Rock 'n' Rollercoaster. We also caught the Moteurs... Action! Stunt Show which was pretty impressive.

You don't actually need much time to explore the studios. Half a day is plenty, maybe a day maximum. We had the benefit of visiting midweek in November so it wasn't too crowded and longest queue was around 30-minutes. 

On our first evening we went to the Disneyland Park to watch the Disney Dreams of Christmas Fireworks Show. It was incredible! I felt so festive by the end of it.

After the show we headed to Inventions in the Disneyland Hotel for a buffet dinner, where we met Mickey and friends! I felt like such a big kid. The food was also very good. Being a vegetarian I was worried there wouldn't be much choice, but I didn't go hungry. 

We finished the night over at Planet Hollywood in the Disney Village, before walking back to the hotel. We stayed at Disney's Sequoia Lodge, which is only a 10-15 minute walk from the Disney Village. It looked stunning decorated for the holidays and I'd definitely recommend it if it's within your budget.

Day 2: Disneyland Park

Our second (and final) day was spent back at Disneyland Park. It looks just as magical in the daylight as it does at night. Luckily we were blessed with sunny weather, even if it was freezing!

One ride I was keen to go on was Space Mountain. The last time I went to Disneyland Paris (when I was 7) I was too short to go on it. I ended up riding it twice over the course of the day. Childhood dream completed!

We also caught the Disney Christmas Parade, which was amazing. Even in November it was hard not to feel festive! One tip I would give to anyone visiting this time of year is to make sure you wrap up warm. You spend most of the day outside and it was hard to keep the chill away. 

After a long day at the park it was sadly time to head home. Our flight back to Birmingham was booked for later that evening, and we caught the high-speed TGV train from Marne-la-Vallée station. This is conveniently located right outside the park entrance and it's only a 15-20 minute ride to Charles De Gaulle airport.
