Bank holiday Monday

Today is bank holiday Monday and the weather was b-e-a-uuutiful. After I finished work at 1pm I thought it would be a waste of a day if I didn't go out and make use of the gorgeous sunshine, so I decided to walk the 10 minutes down the road to the Arrow Valley Lake and its lovely scenic views. The place was swarming with people who had clearly had the same idea as me so I did a leisurely loop of the Lake, chilled for a bit with my ipod in the sunshine, then headed home.

Luckily my Mum was round mine at the time (painting my hall stairs and landing PINK of all colours, without even asking me first but that's a whole other story) and she agreed to walk part of the way with me in order to take a couple of quick photos of what I was wearing.

Dress - Glamorous at BANK; Belt - New Look; Sandals - New Look; Sunglasses - Topshop; Bag - Sugarhill Boutique

It's easy sometimes to take for granted things that have been there for as long as you can remember and the lake is one of them. I don't go down there nearly as much as I should considering it's only a short walk away. In the sunshine it looks stunning and I've decided I'm going to try to take as many blog photos as I can down there this Summer since it makes a nice change from my boring back garden or the brick wall down the side of my house!

I decided to wear the owl print dress I bought from BANK last year (I even blogged about it way back here!) with my New Look studded sandals which I also bought last year in the sale near the end of the Summer (they have some similar here). I hardly had chance to wear them before but hopefully I'll be able to get good wear out of them this year. I'm also lugging around here my Sugarhill boutique ladybird canvas bag which came with the dress I won the other week. I've mostly been using it to carry my work uniform but it makes a nice casual bag as well.

Other than this little walk today I didn't do an awful lot this weekend - because of the nature of my job I usually have to work most major holidays so I never get to do anything special. Although saying that I did go out for a meal with some people from work on Saturday night to Frankie's and Benny's which was fun.

I've also got a bit of a cold/chesty cough going on at the moment which means I'm currently sporting a sexy man voice (think Phoebe in that episode of friends) so fingers crossed it goes away soon!

How did you spend your bank holiday weekend? How have you been enjoying this weather?
