In the past 12 months I’ve been lucky enough to tick 4 locations off my Travel Bucket List (Iceland, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Dublin), so I thought it was about time I made an updated list for 2018! Here are 5 places I would love to visit this year…
I’m cheating a little with this one, as I’ve actually already booked a holiday to Copenhagen for May! It’ll be my boyfriend’s birthday, so we’re going to spend a weekend exploring the sights and sampling the local beer. I can’t wait to see Nyhavn harbour (pictured above). Tivoli Gardens amusement park is also pretty high on my to-do list.
If anyone has any recommendations for places to eat and drink, or what to see and do, please let me know either in the comments below or on twitter!
Not only does Dubrovnik look absolutely stunning, it’s also a filming location for Game of Thrones (one of my favourite TV shows!) I did a Game of Thrones tour when I went to Iceland last year and really enjoyed it, so I’ve now made it my mission to do as many as possible around the world.
After reading Jasmine’s blog post on 5 things to do in Dubrovnik I also really want to visit Lokrum island to see the wild bunnies and peacocks! Apparently there’s also a monastery which houses a GoT Museum and an Iron Throne. Just think of the photo opportunities.
Would you believe I’ve never been to Italy? Pretty amazing considering how much I love pizza, pasta and carbs! When it comes to holidays, I’m definitely more of a city break fan. I have pale skin which burns really easily, so lying on a beach all day just isn’t my thing. Rome sounds like the perfect weekend away, as there’s so much to do there. I’d love to see the Colosseum, Vatican City and the Trevi Fountain. And eat ALL the food of course.
So I’ve actually been to Paris a couple of times, but never as an adult (unless you count Disneyland Paris a few years ago). I can barely remember it from when I went in school, other than they made us walk down the steps from the top of the Eiffel Tower in 30-degree heat (#sweaty). I’d love to see the Louvre, the Notre Dame and the Moulin Rouge. And maybe pay another visit to Disneyland ;-)
New York City, USA
The Big Apple is still high on my Travel Bucket List. I’ve been to the US a few times, most recently to Walt Disney World Florida in 2016. My Dad lives in Utah, within driving distance of Las Vegas, California and the Grand Canyon, so I’ve also been lucky enough to see a lot of that area.
I’d love to see more of the eastern coast. My dream would be to visit NYC around Christmas and New Year so I can go ice skating in central park (and hopefully see a bit of snow too!)
What destinations would you like to visit in 2018?
