Life Lately

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, it’s been over 3 months since I last updated my blog. To help me get back into the swing of things I thought it would be fun to do a quick roundup of what I’ve been up to during that time! All photos taken from my Instagram, which I’ve also been neglecting recently. Hopefully that will change once I finally upgrade my phone next month!

The Sagrada Familia Barcelona

Back in February me and my mum jetting off to Barcelona for a long weekend. My sister is living over there at the moment so we thought it was a perfect excuse to visit (not that we needed one!) I’d never been to Barcelona before and it had been on my travel bucket list for a while, so I was pretty excited!

We visited most of Barcelona’s top attractions, including Park Guell and La Sagrada Familia. We also ate a LOT of tapas and drank plenty of sangria. It rained for most of our first day which was a shame, but on our second day it was beautifully sunny. We squeezed quite a lot into a short space of time, but I’d definitely love to go back one day.

Bath Weir

Last weekend I headed down to Bath – another city I’d never visited before! We booked an Airbnb for the weekend which was in a perfect location around a 20 minute walk from the city centre. One thing I will say about Bath is it’s a beautiful place to walk around. There’s so much to see! I’d definitely recommend packing comfortable shoes.

Bath also has some really nice bars and restaurants. On the Friday night we started off at The Stable to get one of their cider tasting boards, then walked up to The Over Pizzeria for (you guessed it) pizza. We ended up in the Canary Gin bar which does delicious cocktails! On Saturday evening we went out for food at Absurd Bird which was so good. They mostly serve chicken (which I don’t eat) but they also have a delicious range of side dishes. We ordered way too much food and I was completely stuffed for the rest of the night!

ASOS white bunny shoes

These adorable bunny shoes are from ASOS and I love that they have little pom pom tails at the back! They look so cute with a pair of jeans and simple t-shirt. The green panda dress below is from Elsie’s Attic. I used to love pandas when I was little (still do!) so as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it.

People sometimes ask me if I own any clothes that aren’t covered in cute animal prints… I promise I do! Someone at work made a comment about it the once so I reacted by going 2 weeks without wearing anything animal related. Not gonna lie, I was surprised I managed to do it haha!

Last night I found out the hockey team I play for has been accepted into the league for next season. We only formed last September and have only ever played friendly matches together so it’s pretty exciting. Bring on September!

On Tuesday my Dad and his family are coming over from America to visit. They’re staying for 3 weeks and we’ve got a lot planned for while they’re here, including days out at Warwick Castle and Thorpe Park. We’re also going to head down to London for a day. My stepsisters have never been to the UK before so we’ll be doing lots of sightseeing.

My Uncle is also coming over to visit from the Isle of Man, and my sister is moving back home from Barcelona. I think it’s safe to say the next few weeks are going to be filled with family time! I can’t wait.
