December is always a busy month for me because 1) It’s my Birthday and 2) It’s Christmaaaas! This year I turned 27 and it was probably one of the best birthdays I’ve had in a while. And not just because I went to see the new Star Wars film. Christmas was spent at my mum’s house, eating all the festive food and watching cheesy movies (Love Actually, The Santa Claus and The Holiday to name a few!)
As always, I received some lovely gifts from my friends and family, so I thought I’d share a few of them on the blog. I’ve noticed these “What I got for Christmas” posts have started to become a little *controversial* recently. I’m not 100% sure why… I think some people see them as being a bit braggy? It’s a shame, because I’ve wrote one every year for the past 3 (see 2016, 2015, 2014) and love putting them together. I also like seeing what other people got! So if you’re nosy like me, keep on reading…
Fashion & Beauty
My Nan was incredibly generous this year. She not only got me Benefit “They’re Real” Mascara, but also the liner to go with it! I’ve used both of these in the past and love them. My youngest sister got me plenty of goodies from Lush, including a Buffy body scrub and a bottle of Snow Fairy shower gel (my favourite).
I also received not one, but TWO Cath Kidston bags! My Mum bought me this gorgeous Mickey Mouse bag for my birthday, then the cat print bag was from my boyfriend for Christmas. I’m actually a little scared to use the Mickey bag in case I get it dirty… it’s just too pretty!
Other presents from my mum included the cutest fox pyjamas and the softest dressing gown (which you can see on my instagram here), plus a new pair of gymshark leggings. I already have a pair in purple marl and they’re honestly the comfiest workout clothes ever. Hopefully they’ll help me feel motivated to get back to the gym properly in the New Year!
One of my favourite presents this year (if I had to pick!) was this Game of Thrones Cluedo board game, courtesy of my sister. It’s well known within my family and friends that I LOVE both Cluedo and Game of Thrones, so it’s pretty much the perfect present! We played it on Christmas night and I won *smug face*.
My New Year’s resolution this year is to complete a whole month of eating vegan, so I’m planning to do a lot more cooking from scratch. This Star Wars chopping board will definitely come in useful (thanks mum!) She also got me the sweetest Emma Bridgewater Robin Mug which I’ll be using way beyond Christmas.
